Shriners Team National Golf Championship 2008

To be played in conjunction with The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, Nevada

Teams

1)  Each team will have 4 members.

2)  Each member must have an established USGA handicap index.

3)  Each member must meet USGA Amateur Golfer requirements at the time of local qualifying and at the National Event.

4)  There may be only one member of the team that attended the National Team Championship on the team attempting to qualify for the current year.

5)  A team member attempting to qualify must use a handicap index that is no more than 3 strokes higher than his low index for the 12 month period prior to qualifying at any Temple.

Format

Elimination Scramble:  Each Team member will tee off on hole #1. If they start on any other hole the team will decide who will hit, so that only 3 people are hitting. The team decides which shot is favorable. The player whose shot is chosen is eliminated from hitting the second shot.  When the second shot is selected the player who hit that shot is eliminated from hitting the third shot, etc.  A player is only eliminated for the shot following his selected shot.  This will continue for the entire round, therefore the player making the last putt on a hole cannot tee off on the following hole.  The eliminated player cannot make a practice shot or putt during the time he is eliminated.  Each violation of the format results in a 2 stroke penalty.
